Far North Coast Residential Submarkets The Department of Planning appointed MacroPlan in 2008 to provide an overview of the housing submarket, market segmentation and residential supply of the Far North Coast region of NSW. For each local government area within the Far North Coast region, MacroPlan assessed the supply of and demand for residential dwellings; provided an overview of the population, age and income characteristics; outlined the house and rental prices; and identified the housing types required in the future. The study highlighted the need to consider, as part of a 5 year review, revising up of the Far North Coast Regional Strategy’s residential dwelling targets in some areas in order to ensure that the adequate supply of housing is provided over the next 25 years.
