Melton Participation Strategy
MacroPlan Australia was commissioned by Melton Shire Council to assist in their proactive approach to improve the health and well being of the community, thus improving quality of life for all. 
The project aimed to develop models or a planning framework that will result in an increase in the current active participation rate of residents.
Specifically, the objectives of the project were:

Research resident’s current activity patterns specifically examining residents motivation for participation and community segments that are currently inactive

Assess how public/assets within the Shire are currently used for non structured recreation

Identify current opportunities within the Shire to participate in structured recreation activities

Identify existing models that demonstrate success in increasing participation

Develop Strategy/Model with an emphasis on communication and relationship building opportunities

Provide an appropriate evaluation tool.
MacroPlan Australia delivered a model and planning framework that will foster the active participation rate of residents hence assisting in the promotion of the social, economic and cultural development of the municipality.
Understanding the vision and strategic direction of Council and the aspirations of the community inline with MacroPlan’s extensive resources, gave extensive value to the role sport, recreation and leisure play in community life.
