June message from Michael Tilt, CEO

As this newsletter marks the end of the 2017-18 financial year, I have had a chance to step back from budgets and business planning to reflect on the national picture. And it has been all about the big picture for MacroPlan, with growth in both the value and breadth of major project success. The continued positive feedback from our clients has confirmed that our unique approach to a collaborative working journey, with a core focus in research and planning is providing strong results for boards, management and communities alike.  MacroPlan have truly become the market leader in providing strategic property solutions driven by economics and we are the clear standout in the national market.

Achieving these results can not be possible without the extraordinary efforts of our national team (so a huge thank you to you all).  It is truly an honour for me to represent such a committed and talented group of professionals who continue to drive innovation and solutions for our communities.  As part of our annual business review process it has become evident that working at MacroPlan, means operating in an environment that focuses you to inspire, connect, educate, create and solve.

Industry leadership and sharing knowledge is a core focus of our day to day.  Our Executive Chairman, Brian Haratsis has established himself as an industry thought leader in the Autonomous Vehicle space with the release of his recent book Autropolis: The Diverse Mobility Revolution. Our team has worked closely with Brian to develop a range of new strategic solutions for our clients.  Over the course of the last 12 months, we have delivered a range of strategic planning projects for Government providing the roadmap for future city and region building with a future lens of smart and connected cities driven by new mega trends.

Earlier this month, we welcomed Warwick Turpin as our new National Manager of Retail. His focus for the next 12 months will be to capitalise on our unsurpassed knowledge of the Australian retail landscape and ensuring clients fully understand the breadth of services MacroPlan offer in this sector.  Our team is represented in all the capital cities, so don’t hesitate to get in touch for a personal briefing.

As we continue to grow and enhance our knowledge base, we have also made a strong commitment to clients to ensure their projects can be delivered. The project management team is currently managing the delivery of a range commercial, industrial, residential and tourism related projects for both the private and public sector.  If you are undertaking a review of your works program, portfolio or individual project/site we are more than happy to discuss our delivery approach.

Client engagement is a strong part of the culture at MacroPlan.  Our marketing team have hosted numerous events across the nation, I thank you for all your support and attendance.  In the spirit of events, many of you are part of MacroPlan’s World Cup sweep stakes. For those of you who are still standing, we are soon to be heading into the top 16 round.  Good luck to you all.

So, as we put this financial year to bed, you may be wondering what’s in store for 2018-2019 . . .

Well, we’ll be bringing all our staff together from around the country in what will be a monumental occasion for us.  Having achieved over 30 years in the business, we can’t let that milestone go by without a party.  And don’t be surprised to see a new look from MacroPlan when we re-brand in the coming months as part of that celebration.

It’s going to be another great year for us and I am confident that, working together, it’s going to be another great one for you too! I wish you all the best for the year ahead.
