Brief: Utilising a cost benefit framework, MacroPlan undertook an assessment of Logan City Council’s Central Beenleigh Revitalisation Plan to assist a wider understanding of its potential economic, social and environmental value. The CBRP is part of the implementation programme for the Beenleigh Master Plan that informs future investment and consists of a series of infrastructure projects that will focus the investment of funds on those projects that are most beneficial to the revitalisation of the town centre.
Methodology: This study identified significant economic, social and environmental outcomes that are of direct benefit to the Beenleigh community and also at a state-wide level. MacroPlan also engaged with various land owners surrounding the site to understand and set potential investment scenarios in relation to the proposed project as an economic catalyst.
Result: MacroPlan’s report was used by Logan City Council to attract funding through federal and state government. Since the report was completed the Logan City Council has received over $6 million in funding towards the project, which is expected to begin work within the next 12 months.
