Brief: MacroPlan was engaged by the City of Onkaparinga as part of a consultancy team led by Hames Sharley to conduct economic assessments for a range of land uses at Noarlunga Centre, a retail and service precinct located 30 kilometres south of the Adelaide CBD in the city’s outer southern suburbs.
Methodology: As part of the engagement, MacroPlan:
Reviewed the Noarlunga Regional Centre Revitalisation economic and market sizing parameters – including key forecasts underpinning market demand/supply forecasts.
Prepared high level revised economic / market forecasts reflecting analysis of likely future market needs and potential supply / demand gaps – including residential, retail, commercial office, short-stay accommodation and student accommodation.
Defined Town Centre sizing parameters and key success factors/drivers drawing on case study evidence, developed economic key case elements supporting the development of key precincts.
Result: The findings of this economic assessment informed the Noarlunga Regional Centre Revitalisation Project which was developed by Hames Sharley for the City of Onkaparinga to guide investment and growth at Noarlunga Centre to 2035.
