Location: Revesby, New South Wales
Brief: MacroPlan was commissioned by Planning NSW to undertake an assessment of the Revesby Project, specifically looking at the outcomes from the project in the context of the objectives of the Urban Improvement Program (UIP) and other related government objectives.
Methodology: Assessment of the Revesby Project followed a triple bottom line approach and provided the full spectrum of project outcomes to assess the achievement of policy objectives as well as financial and economic outcomes.
MacroPlan’s approach used both quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to capture the full range of benefits – social, environmental and economic.
Result: The results demonstrated positive benefits for all criteria with economic considerations rated as the highest benefit of the project. The economic impact analysis suggested that the development of Revesby Urban Village could create significant benefits for both new residents and existing communities in proximity of the site.
It was identified that there will also be positive economic benefits which are not quantified in this study including new job creation, economic development activities and increased rating capacity for the City.
A significant opportunity to further maximise the benefits of the current project was also identified that would provide for a better linkage with the part of the town centre south of the rail line.
