Footscray Hospital – Capella

Macroplan was engaged by Capella Capital to prepare a comprehensive market assessment supporting their submission to fund the development of a new 504-bed Footscray Hospital in Melbourne’s inner west.

Our assessment involved preparing market needs analyses for retail, food and beverage, commercial office, childcare, medical services, short-stay accommodation and a community hub. Our assessment identified appropriate floor space requirements and take-up rates for each use and explored opportunities for the colocation of several uses as part of an integrated health, education and business hub.

The findings of our assessment supported the preparation of an integrated master plan and overall project proposal with a focus on innovation and industry partnerships. Construction of the new Footscray Hospital is now underway with an expected completion date of 2025.
